Artist In Residence Program 2018
The DAC Gallery's parent organization, Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) Art Centers Program, opened its doors in 1968 to encourage, assist, and support personal artistic expression by adults with developmental disabilities. At ECF Art Centers, programming is provided five days a week by professional art instructors in open studio facilities. In 2017, ECF established its Artist In Residency for emerging and established artists who want to pursue an opportunity to create alongside and in collaboration with ECF Artists, all of whom are adults living with developmental disabilities.
ELIGIBILITY: Emerging and established artists who live within the greater Los Angeles area and have an active practice in any discipline are eligible to apply. Artists who work in: animation, printmaking, sculpture, photography, painting, ceramics, writing, poetry, sound, and performance are especially encouraged to consider applying.
All applicants must pass a TB and background check.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Finalized application due April 12th. All interested applicants must arrange a tour of any of the four Art Centers by March 16th in order to apply.
LENGTH OF RESIDENCY: 2 – 3 months
LOCATIONS: Any of four Art Center locations: Los Angeles, CA (Westside, South L.A., Downtown L.A.), San Pedro, CA
