The Shape of Support

DAC Gallery presents The Shape of Support, the annual ECF Art Center staff exhibition conceived around the idea of support systems.  Celebrating staff as both accomplished artists and integral to the Art Center program, this exhibition emphasizes the notion that support takes on many different forms.  The ECF Art Centers thrive because of the staff’s unwavering mentorship, creativity, and guidance.   Throughout the year, staff carry out exceptional person centered programming in the studios to support the growth of ECF artists.  Currently adjusting to the COVID-19 pandemic, staff call artists for daily check ins, lead online classes, drop off supplies to homes and mail letters and art activities demonstrating their unwavering commitment.

The artwork of The Shape of Support highlights each staff member’s art practice through studio documentation of their paintings, ceramics, mixed media, drawing, photography and printmaking works.  Originally scheduled to take place at DAC Gallery, this exhibition has been moved to an online presentation due to social distancing guidelines set in place by Los Angeles City government in the wake of the pandemic.
